Special wind statement for Niagara
In a special weather statement, Environment Canada says there's the potential for very strong wind gusts today in Niagara.
The weather agency says very strong and gusty southwest winds are expected this afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front.
Winds gusting to 60 or 70 km/hr are likely in many areas, in a advisory that also covers southwest and eastern Ontario.
Scattered showers and the odd thunderstorm are likely this afternoon ahead of the front.
Environment Canada says even stronger wind gusts to 80 km/h are possible in these showers. Winds will quickly diminish this evening with the passage of the cold front.
