Police continue search for missing Crystal Beach woman
Emergency crews continued the search for Barbara Cowsill. The Fort Erie woman was last seen at her home at approximately 11a.m. Monday in the Thunderbay Road area of Crystal Beach / Fort Erie. The 66 year old woman is described as 5'3, 115 lbs, with short grey / brown hair. Niagara Regional Police, with the assistance of Fort Erie firefighters, continued to search for Barbara Cowsill Tuesday.
The 66-year-old Crystal Beach woman was last seen at her home at approximately 11 a.m. on Monday in the Thunder Bay Road area of Crystal Beach.
Const. Phil Gavin said police “have a number of resources in place trying to assist in the search” on the ground and in the water including the emergency task unit, the marine unit and canine unit. Officers operating ATVs have been searching along the beach and local trails.
Firefighters have been walking the shoreline and a helicopter from Erie County has also been called in to conduct “sweeps of the shoreline,” Gavin said.
NRP say Cowsill’s family is concerned for her safety due to the cold weather and her ongoing medical conditions.
Police have asked the public to be on the lookout for Cowsill. She is described as 5’3, 115 pounds, with short grey and brown hair. Anyone with information about her whereabouts can contact the NRPS at 905-688-4111.
